Beauty sleep has never looked so good with these cozy & gorgeous 2021 bedroom trends.

As one of the most personal spaces within your home, your bedroom is more than a space where you sleep a night. It’s the place you go to escape and recharge after a long, hectic day, especially this chaotic and whirlwind year. It’s the place where you dream about what’s to come, so it’s necessary to design a calming bedroom for your much-needed “me time.” A space that will perfectly reflect your style and taste.

However, that doesn’t completely mean it shouldn’t keep up with the latest bedroom trends. If you want it to feel like a retreat designed to promote a positive mood and relaxation, it’s necessary to upgrade it with a few simple bedroom décor. Seven interior design experts shared their 2021 bedroom trends that will surely inspire deeper and dreamier slumber.

All-White Bedding

Beth Dotolo and Carolina V Gentry, co-founders of Pulp Design Studios, predicts that all-white bedding will be one of the trends that never go out of style. “When you can swap out decorative pillows on crisp white linens, you’ll always be on-trend.” Looks like a bed we want to jump into and cozy up with a good book!

Eliminate Clutter

Joy Williams, principal of Joyful Designs Studio, shared in an interview with MyDomaine that her clients want their bedrooms to be meditative spaces. If they can’t find a small space to make a calming room or meditation space, they are co-opting the bedroom. So she predicts that one of the 2021 bedroom trends will be eliminating clutter, removing all of the excesses, and paring down to quality case goods, mattresses, window treatments, and Italian made bedding.

Green is IN

Green is the color of harmony, life, prosperity, and renewal. However, it can also be a wild card when used in a bedroom, but according to Nicolle Sullivan, founder of CULTIVER, we will see a lot of fresh and soothing shades of green as a way of bringing the outdoors into our bedrooms.

Lighter Yet Colorful Palette

Mark Lavender, principal of M. Lavender Interiors, says, “I believe as families continue to work and educate from home, the cliché of the bedroom as a sanctuary becomes more relevant and realistic. I think both primary and kids’ bedrooms will become more of a place to gain some momentary solitude in addition to a place to sleep. I believe we will trend away from dark colors to a lighter yet colorful palette as people want more happy environments.

A perfect example would be this blue and white master bedroom of this rural Connecticut farmhouse from Country Living. Combine natural materials and patterned textiles to make the space bright and cozy.

Multi-Purpose Space

One of the biggest 2021 bedroom trends will be carving up spaces to become multi-functional while maintaining a stylish vibe,” says Laurie Blumenfeld-Russo, principal of Laurie Blumenfeld Design to MyDomaine. For example, since many of us are working from home, you can turn a corner of your bedroom into a workspace with a bistro table and a comfy chair.

Style Your Window

Designer John McClain predicts that one of the 2021 bedroom trends will be sheer curtains and drapes. “Awareness and respect for the natural rhythms of light and their effect on health and sleep have swung the pendulum when it comes to window treatments. Heavy ornate draperies and blackouts are giving way to breezy and in some cases sheer treatments which provide a modicum of privacy but still allow light to pass.

Texture-Rich

Designer Kathleen Walsh shares with MyDomaine that one of the 2021 bedroom trends will be focused on texture. She says, “Whether it comes through in your bed linens, on the walls via wallpaper, or through a window seat refresh with cozier textiles, my clients are anticipating they’ll be burrowing this winter and are looking for comfort.” You can also add texture to your bedroom walls by opting for gorgeous stone walls, like this peaceful master bedroom designed by Cathy Chapman. It definitely has an earthy feel. Cozy throw blankets help, too!
