Clean the Microwave

Did you notice that use your microwave almost every day to heat up snacks this summer season? As a result, your microwave is full of food stains and smell that can linger for weeks. Clean your microwave with a slice of lemon in half, place in a bowl filled with water. Place the bowl with lemon inside the microwave for three minutes, wipe your microwave with a clean cloth, and you’re done! The zesty smell of lemon will surely freshen up your microwave.

Dust More Often

Summer is also called the dust season. While it’s beautiful to let the sunshine through your home, it could also increase the dust in your space, triggering allergies or any related respiratory issues. Prevent this by dusting more often with a microfiber cloth.

Keep Odors Away

One of the summer cleaning tips you should know is to throw away your trash by the end of the day. Due to the heat and humidity, bacteria grows and spreads faster in your trash bin, which creates an unpleasant smell. Another tip is to sprinkle baking soda in the bottom of your trash bin. This will absorb the bad odor before it spread into your home.

Prevent Mildew and Mold Growth

Did you know that mold and mildew grow faster during the summer season because of the humidity? You’ll notice mold and mildew in humid areas of your home, such as your bathroom and laundry area. Prevent mold and mildew by making sure to wipe the floor and surfaces with a microfiber cloth. It’s also best to leave the door open to dry out the room when not in use.

Remove Water Rings

Remove water rings with a cotton cloth and iron. Place the cotton cloth and iron on top of the water ring for a few seconds. Check if the ring is still visible, if it is, repeat the process as many times until the water ring has disappeared.

Use Essential Oils

Keep your home smelling clean and fresh by using essential oils. It’s one of the summer cleaning tips that will give your home a good first impression to your guests. You could also add lavender essential oil to your bedroom or living room to help you relax and rest well.
