Sofa Hacks

Add New Throw Pillows

One of the easiest and cheapest sofa hacks is to get some new throw pillows for your sofa. Don’t underestimate the power of throw pillows to make the space look chic and cozy. Plus, there are plenty of options you could choose from to add color, pattern, and texture to your living space.

Cover It Up

If you’ve already added new throw pillows, but it seems like something’s missing, then maybe a stylish slipcover could give your old sofa a fresh new look. You can have them custom-made or purchase a slipcover in a standard size.

Make It Look More Formal With Nailhead Trim

One of the sofa hacks that looks great in a plain sofa is nailhead trim. Determine the lines of your sofa you want to accent and then gently nail in the tacks. Make sure to create intervals of 1/2 inch. Remember, you can only apply this hack with original upholstery.

Stuff Saggy Cushions

Make your old sofa look better by restuffing the cushions. Take off the cover and wrap the cushion with foam wrap or quilt batting. You can use adhesive spray to secure the foam wrap and fill the few saggy spots with cotton batting.

Reupholster Your Sofa

If stuffing saggy cushions isn’t effective, maybe it’s time to reupholster your sofa. Some would choose to reupholster an old sofa because it’s cheaper. Plus, it could be antique. If you noticed a few wear and tear, it’s time to reupholster your sofa to make it look new once again.
