DIY Grasscloth-Wrapped Table Steps
STEP 1: The first step is to cut the grasscloth wallpaper for the top sections of your console. It should be long enough to start at the base of one leg and be able to go up and over to the base of the opposite leg. Brush on wallpaper paste once it’s cut.
STEP 2: Smooth out air bubbles with a foam wallpaper brush and your hands.
STEP 3: Use the rollers to get a crisp edge.
STEP 4: Fold the excess grasscloth wallpaper underneath the console. It’s important to focus on folding the corners neatly to make it look seamless.
STEP 5: Repeat the corner process above on the 3 other corners.
STEP 6: Using an electric stapler, staple the parts that needed a little support.
STEP 7: Cut the pieces underneath the console, but instead of cutting one continuous piece, Effortless Style suggested cutting 3 separate pieces to get the perfect seam.
STEP 8: When you cut the grasscloth wallpaper, make sure to make them a bit larger. You could get rid of the excess later on with a razor for a clean cut. Repeat this step with the two sides.
STEP 9: If there are a couple of frayed hairs on the corners, use fabric glue and apply it on the corner seam to prevent fraying.
STEP 10: Leave everything to set for 24 hours. Once everything’s dried up, you can decorate your new grasscloth-wrapped table!
