Today’s fabulous home tour (that made all of us envious) happens to be the home of interior designer Sarah Reed. A mid-century style ranch that’s beautifully curated with boho eclectic finds and elegant Scandinavian pieces. Trust us when we say that Sarah’s home is literally styled to perfection! She designed a (super) bright, calm, cozy, and welcoming home (we won’t mind spending the quarantine here).

It’s rare to see a mid-century-style architecture combined with Scandinavian boho interior, and it’s also rare that you see a designer pull it off successfully, but Sarah did it perfectly with her family’s home that transitions smoothly from room to room. Putting the house together, Sarah was well aware that aside from creating a beautiful space, it should cater to her family’s needs, including their adorable bulldog. Sarah and her husband renovated the ranch into a sanctuary for their family to grow into and with over the years.

Sarah’s Scandinavian boho home is filled with greenery. LOTS of all kinds of greenery, especially their sage green kitchen, which is, by the way, our second favorite part of her home. You might have guessed it right because the living room’s skylight took the top spot! Have we mentioned her home’s patio? It’s giving us a getaway without actually getting away vibes.

Sarah’s inspiration came in the form of her travels, particularly in Norway. Of course, endless hours of scrolling through Instagram. The decorating and renovating continue at Sarah’s home. The couple considers their space as a work in progress that requires a lot of patience and time. However, Sarah and her husband are truly enjoying the ride and the process of turning this mid-century-style ranch into their forever abode.

Tell us something about your home

This home had so much potential when I first noticed the listing. It’s a mid-century-style ranch that just needed some extra love! We gutted most of it, added on to it, and renovated the entire kitchen and both bathrooms. It was a big project, but that’s what we wanted! It’s in a lovely neighborhood where we can walk to four coffee shops and many parks, so that’s fun.

Tip: Sarah’s home is so aesthetically pleasing because of its earthy color palette and greenery, which makes a perfect combination. Also, choosing the right planter definitely added beauty to the space. Omysa’s Large Round Planter is a highly versatile pot that can effortlessly blend in with any décor style without breaking the bank.

Describe your interior style

My style would be described as “Scandi-Boho.” I would say my husband has the same style as me except he’s more minimal in his design choices, and I’m a plant lady! I have plants literally everywhere.

Tip: Add character and style to your home by creating a gallery wall! Go for a mismatched layout by using different frame styles.

What is your favorite part of your home and why?

My favorite part of our home is the kitchen because it’s in the center of the home, and we chose a fun sage green tile color that makes the space pop!

Tip: Did you know that sage green is the trending kitchen cabinet color this 2021? It’s a versatile color that can be paired with any kitchen style, from farmhouse to Scandinavian boho interior. It can also make your kitchen space look brighter.

What is your least favorite part of your home and why?

My least favorite part I would say is the basement. It’s becoming cuter, but I’ve just never liked basements that much! I would love to create more light down there and open up some windows.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

I get lots of inspiration from my past travels. Norway was very inspirational. Also, I love some designers like Kelly Wearstler, Studio McGee, and some others I follow on Instagram.
